A fire severely damages an unoccupied home in South Peoria

PEORIA (25News Now) – Two fire department investigators are trying to determine the cause of a fire that caused $150,000 in damage to an unoccupied home on the city’s south side Wednesday morning.

At approximately 6:45 a.m., firefighters were called to the 3500 block of Southwest Adams. According to the release, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and fire in an attached secondary garage in front of the two-story home.

Battalion Chief Tom Stimeling said multiple crews and hose lines were needed to bring the fire under control.

There were no injuries and the cause remains under investigation.
