Madrid’s Courtois and Rodrygo will miss the Clasico with injuries

Real Madrid duo Thibaut Courtois and Rodrygo are likely to miss Saturday’s Clasico clash against La Liga leaders Barcelona due to injury problems.

Los Blancos recovered from a deficit to beat Borussia Dortmund 5-2 in the Champions League on Tuesday, but suffered the loss of goalkeeper Courtois.

“Courtois has been diagnosed with an adductor injury in his left leg,” Madrid said in a statement on Wednesday, with Ukrainian centre-back Andriy Lunin his usual replacement.

Lunin stepped in for Courtois earlier this month after the Belgian suffered a minor hip injury.

Rodrygo appeared to have been injured in the closing stages of the win over Dortmund and Madrid coach Ancelotti said the winger had a “muscle injury”.

Spanish media reported on Wednesday that Rodrygo is expected to miss the game against the league leaders due to a thigh injury.

The champions’ runner-up is three points behind Hansi Flick’s Barcelona.
