Dodgers fan creates wearable art inspired by Day of the Dead

LOS ANGELES, California – The Day of the Dead is a time of joy, remembrance and connection, and designer Lily Martinez has captured that spirit with her fashion. With her eye-catching designs, she transforms the rich cultural heritage of Da de los Muertos into wearable art, combining tradition with contemporary flair.

“My focus is making Catrinas because it’s a juxtaposition of all the things I love,” Martinez said.

When her favorite baseball team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, began celebrating the holiday at a game every year, she began the tradition of creating and wearing a game day outfit that united her culture and her fan base.

“I love that baseball is celebrating this,” Martinez said. “It just shows you the power of our culture. It’s a wonderful holiday. It’s really about family, unity, togetherness and celebrating life.”
