Where to start trick-or-treating early in San Antonio and surrounding areas

Sometimes sweets can be “scary”.

SAN ANTONIO – Halloween is just around the corner! What better way to kick off the festivities than by exploring locations around the Alamo City for some early trick-or-treating?

This spooky season will host free, family-friendly trick-or-treating events at several locations.

Check out some of the places where you can go trick-or-treating:

  • Alamo City Hobby Shop Trunk or Treat: The free, family-friendly event will feature a Trunk-or-Treat event on October 26 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at 6812 Bandera Road. Guests are advised to dress smartly.
  • Bexar County’s Pct. 2 Autumn Festival: Bexar County Parks and Recreation will host a free fall festival at Rodriguez Park, 2060 Rodriguez Ave., on Oct. 27 from noon to 4 p.m. There will be trick-or-treating, a costume contest, live music and other free activities at the festival.
  • Boerne’s Trick-or-Treat Trail: Enjoy a stroll through historic downtown Boerne and trick-or-treat at 100 Main St. on October 26th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Boo Bash: The free zombie-themed trunk-or-treat will be held at 816 Alsace St. in Castroville on October 26th from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be food trucks, a photo booth and a photo contest.
  • Cave Autumn Festival: Natural Bridge Caverns is hosting its Cavern Fall Fest at 26495 Natural Bridge Caverns Road October 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free trick-or-treating will be offered from 3 to 5 p.m. The festival is free with a purchased Natural Bridge Caverns ticket.
  • City Church Trunk-or-Treat: The church will host its annual Trunk-or-Treat at 9431 Bandera Road on October 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes.
  • Converse Police Department Trunk-or-Treat: The Converse Police Department is hosting a free Trunk-or-Treat event on October 25th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at 8200 Spring Town. The department will also host a screening of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
  • Endeavors Wellness Center Trunk-or-Treat: The center will host its free third annual Trunk-or-Treat on Oct. 26 from 4 to 6 p.m. at 6333 De Zavala Road.
  • “Happy Terrors”: Trick-or-treat during Happy Frights through October 31 at the San Antonio Botanical Garden. The fun starts at 5:00 p.m. Guests have photo opportunities with a jack-o-lantern or adventure through a neon light maze.
  • Bexar County Housing Authority Trunk-or-Treat: Families can enjoy Halloween activities during the Trunk-or-Treat event on Oct. 26 from noon to 2 p.m. at 1954 E. Houston St.
  • Children’s Boo Festival: When you book a ticket to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, you can go trick-or-treating with the family. The theme park will be handing out candy around the park every weekend until November 3rd. Six Flags Fiesta Texas is located at 17000 W Interstate 10.
  • Morgan’s Wonderland Halloween Party: Morgan’s Wonderland will have eight candy stations throughout the park through October 31st. There will be other family-friendly activities such as face painting, a butterfly coloring station and more.
  • Outer West Church: Stroll through the church parking lot at 12280 Alamo Ranch Pkwy on October 25th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to attend the Trunk-or-Treat event.
  • San Antonio College: Enjoy an evening of trick-or-treating during San Antonio College’s free annual trunk-or-treat event on October 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. in parking lots 9 and 10. The college is located at 1819 N. Main St.
  • SeaWorld Halloween Spooktacular: Children can enjoy trick-or-treating every Thursday through Sunday through October 31st. The free event is included with park admission. Further information can be found online.
  • Spookfest Field of Horrors & Trunk-or-Treat: The Trunk-or-Treat event begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at La Esquina Food Park, 1120 Gillette Blvd. Admission to the event is free, but if you want to visit Spookfest Field of Horrors, admission is $5 per person. Further information can be found here.
  • Spooky Halloween Party: Enjoy an evening of a trunk-or-treat car show, music, family-friendly activities and more at the free Halloween Bash at Tower of the Americas on October 25 from 7 to 11 p.m. There will also be a pumpkin carving contest, a sack race, and a Dracula 4D movie, which requires a tower ticket.
  • Texas A&M University-San Antonio: The university will host its free annual Trunk-or-Treat at Texas A&M’s Lot 3B on October 25 from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
  • The village at Incarnate Word: Enjoy an afternoon of fun during the free Trunk-or-Treat event on October 25th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at 4707 Broadway in the Angelique House parking lot.
  • ZooBoo: The San Antonio Zoo offers free trick-or-treating during the zoo’s last hour of operation. You can purchase your tickets here.
