West Seattle Blog… | BELOW: Morgan Junction electric vehicle charging station schedule is shifting

Some readers have recently asked about the status of the future Morgan Junction EV charging site, eight bays with chargers on a former substation site east of 42nd SW, between Fauntleroy Way SW and SW Morgan. Earlier this year Seattle City Light told that Morgan Community Association The design was at 90 percent and construction was expected to be underway by now. We asked SCL Jenn Strang about the status, and she told us:

Morgan Junction is our largest and most ambitious electric vehicle charging station project to date, requiring more time, planning and approval than one of our more typical electric vehicle charging station projects. There were also significant delays in the procurement of chargers and other electrical service equipment. This is likely due to the rapid increase in the cost of electrifying transport nationwide.

So what does the revised schedule look like? Strang didn’t say (we’ll ask again when we follow up), and the project website hasn’t been updated since the briefing earlier this year.
