2024 Montana State Cross Country Meet in Missoula: Schedule, Preview

The Montana High School Association state cross country meet begins Saturday at the University of Montana Golf Course in Missoula, with all classes competing to determine who will be this year’s champions.

The first of eight 5K races begins at 11 a.m. with Class B girls and ends at 2:30 p.m. with Class A boys.

CMR, Great Falls High runners in the mix

The CM Russell High and Great Falls High teams each feature multiple athletes in pursuit of All-State honors through a top-15 finish at the state meet.

Rustler freshman Stella Damyanovich is the highest-ranked runner from Great Falls at 10thTh in the overall standings with a best time of 19:27.9, which she set earlier this season in Missoula.

Two-time all-state harrier Aizalyn Flaten, who placed sixth and 11th as a freshmanTh last year as a sophomore at CMR, is ranked 26thTh (20:17.1) for Great Falls High this season. The junior struggled with some lingering injuries at the start of the year but has the experience and skill to move up the group.

Junior Emerson Hamma is ranked 13thTh The CMR boys are heading into state with a best time of 15:55.4, while the Bison’s Conrad Schruth is right on the cusp of 16 minutesTh (16:06.9) and could also move up to All-State.
