Chicago police are searching for two suspects in the shooting death of a teenager in Hamlin Park

Chicago police are searching for two suspects after a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed in a park on the city’s north side earlier this month.

The shooting occurred around 2:18 p.m. on Oct. 4 at Hamlin Park, 3019 North Hoyne Avenue in the West Lakeview neighborhood.

According to police, the suspects may have arrived at the park in a red 2020 Buick Envision SUV with tinted windows.

Surveillance video shows two men getting out of the vehicle near the basketball courts before one of them shot the 15-year-old victim, hitting him in the body.

The suspects then got back into their vehicle and fled the scene, traveling south on North Seely Avenue and west on West George Street.

Police are asking for help identifying the two men involved. The shooter is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 20 and 35, approximately 5’10” to 5’10” tall and was last seen wearing an olive sweater and a gray baseball cap.

The driver is described as a black man, also between 20 and 35 years old, and was wearing glasses.
