CBSE 10th and 12th practical exams begin from January 1; Download the notification here

CBSE Date Sheet 2025: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the practical exam dates for the CBSE Class 10th and 12th board exams in 2025. According to the notification, the CBSE practical exams for classes 10 and 12 will begin on January 1, while the theory exam will also begin on February 15, 2025. Candidates can check the notification at cbse.gov.in.

“The practical exams/IA for the classes

Meanwhile, CBSE winter schools will conduct their practical exams between November 5 and December 5, 2024. The board has also issued standard operating procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for conducting the practical examinations, project work and internal assessments in these schools.

CBSE releases subject wise marking bifurcation

In addition to announcing the exam dates, CBSE has released the subject-wise mark distribution for classes 10 and 12. Schools are advised to review this information carefully to avoid errors when uploading practical grades as these grades cannot be changed once submitted. To help schools conduct practical and theory exams smoothly, CBSE has also provided a detailed list of subjects for classes 10 and 12. This list includes:

– Class
– Subject code
– Subject name
– Theory test for maximum points
– Practical exam with maximum points
– Project evaluation with maximum points
– Maximum score for internal assessment (|A)
– Whether an external examiner will be appointed for the internship/project
Evaluation
– Whether the board provides a practical answer book
– Type of answer book used in theory exams

CBSE has announced that the maximum marks for each subject is 100. The distribution of grades across theory, practical, project and internal assessment (IA) components is shown in the list provided. The board will start conducting theory exams from February 15, 2025. The subject schedule for grades 10 and 12 is expected to be published shortly.
