The Dodge County Fire Department is responding to a barn fire in Fond Du Lac County

(Ashford) The Lomira Fire Department responded to a barn fire in Fond du Lac County on Tuesday. The county communications center received a 911 call around 9:18 p.m. from a passing motorist reporting that a pile of wood was burning next to a barn on W3543 Highway 67 in Ashford Township.

When crews arrived on scene, they turned the fire into a working fire as the barn was engulfed in flames. Due to the size of the fire, local fire departments were called in, including Lomira and Eden Fire. The Campbellsport Fire Department was also on scene and extinguished the fire before it could spread to the barn.

There was damage to the side of the barn and the roof. The property owner told officials he had suffered a controlled fire earlier in the day and said water was used to put out the fire but it must have reignited the woodpile. No injuries were reported.
