Trump claims Biden’s “lock him up” remark proves the criminal cases against him are politically motivated

Trump claims Biden’s “lock him up” remark proves the criminal cases against him are politically motivated

Former President Donald Trump responded to President Biden on Wednesday, suggesting he should be locked up with less than two weeks until Election Day.

Trump, 78, argued that the 81-year-old president’s verbal gaffe proves his claim that the Harris-Biden administration’s Justice Department engaged in “election interference” by filing charges against him during his presidential campaign.

“‘We have to lock him up’ – that’s what I told you – that’s what he said,” Trump said at a rally in Duluth, Georgia, partially quoting Biden’s startling remark on Tuesday.

“Then he denied it – ‘Oh, oh, oh, I didn’t mean that, ah, ah’ – because he’s not legally allowed to say that – he can’t say that,” the former president argued.

Seconds after the gaffe, Biden backtracked as the crowd cheered at a Democratic campaign office in Concord, New Hampshire.

“Politically speaking, we have to lock him up – lock him out, that’s what we have to do,” the president made clear.

Trump isn’t buying it.

“I told you it was election interference,” he said. “That’s all it is. He said, “We have to lock him up.” That’s illegal. It should cause cases.”

“[T]These are corrupt people. “This is all election interference,” Trump asserted after claiming he had been charged more heavily than notorious gangster Al Capone.

“[T]“These lawsuits are being led by the Justice Department and the FBI – Biden is behind them, believe it or not, and he proved that with his stupid statement yesterday,” the Republican presidential candidate added.

However, Trump noted that his popularity has only increased given the legal cases against him.

“It’s crazy, right? Because people got it,” Trump said.

The 45th president was found guilty by a Manhattan jury in May of 34 counts of falsifying business records to conceal hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels in the final weeks of the 2016 campaign.

Sentencing in the case, brought by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, an elected Democrat, is scheduled for November 26.
