The second night of the NBA season is underway and several Western Conference rosters are getting their season underway as the Los Angeles Clippers host the Phoenix Suns in their regular season debut at the Clippers’ new stadium, the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

The game is scheduled to begin at 10:00 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on ESPN and ESPN Deportes. The Suns are hoping for a resurgent season for their big three of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal under new coach Mike Budenholzer.

Clippers honor late Jerry West with empty seat and field decal in new arena

INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers will honor Jerry West this season with a free seat in their new arena and a courtside decal with the Hall of Famer’s initials.

He served as a consultant for the franchise from 2017 until his death in June at age 86.

The team will debut the decal and memorial seat, as well as a video tribute to West, at its season opener Wednesday night against the Phoenix Suns at the Intuit Dome.

“Jerry was a lifelong learner and teacher who inspired us all with his intellect, enthusiasm and love for the game,” team chairman Steve Ballmer said in a statement. “He gave his whole heart to the NBA. We think of him and miss him every day.”

The Clippers also left a spot open for West in their war room during the NBA draft in June.

Earlier this month, West became a three-time inductee into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame for the first time when he was inducted as a contributor, recognizing his front office contributions to the Clippers, Golden State Warriors, Memphis Grizzlies and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers also honored West this season with a uniform band featuring his number, 44. He played his entire 14-year NBA career with them and was an All-Star every year.
