2024 Japan Skateboarding Championships Park: Preview and full schedule

Skateboarding is back where it all began with the Olympic Games.

The park Japanese Skateboard Championships takes place this weekend at the Ariake Urban Sports Park in Tokyo, the site where the sport made its Olympic debut Tokyo 2020. As part of the Games’ legacy program, Ariake was completely renovated for its public opening earlier this month

Nagahara Yuro is the only Olympian in both the men’s and women’s fields. Nagahara was eliminated in the men’s heats Paris 2024 Gamesand finished 15th overall.

Two of Japan’s three female Olympians in the park this summer – silver medalist Hiraki Cocona And Yosozumi SakuraThe Tokyo 2020 gold medalist is out injured with a broken right ankle and wrist. The other, Kusaki Hinanodid not occur.

A total of 33 men and 19 women were listed. As bad weather is forecast for the weekend, the competition schedule is subject to change.
