Bethel teacher under investigation, is on administrative leave

A Bethel Upper Elementary School teacher has been placed on leave, according to Superintendent Matt Posey.

BETHEL ACRES, Okla. –

A Bethel Upper Elementary School teacher has been placed on leave, according to Superintendent Matt Posey.

“The district is aware that a complaint was filed with the School Resource Officer regarding an employee at Bethel Upper Elementary School,” Posey said. “The employee has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation by the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office [the district] I cannot comment further on personnel matters. Ensuring student safety is our priority and the district will cooperate fully with law enforcement as part of the investigation.”

The district did not provide details about the allegations the teacher is facing.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff Mike Booth confirmed his criminal investigators are looking into the case and said his office would release more information Thursday.
