Grand Forks man arrested after setting a house on fire during a domestic dispute

GRASND FORKS, N.D. (Valley News Live) – A Grand Forks man was arrested after setting fire to a home with several people inside during a domestic dispute Wednesday evening.

Grand Forks police said they were called to 631 4 Ave S for a report of a domestic disturbance just after 10 p.m. The Grand Forks Fire also responded after the situation escalated to a house fire.

According to police, 36-year-old James Laducer was inside the home when he got into an argument with a woman inside the home and allegedly harmed her. Officials say Laducer then set fire to several items in the home.

According to officials, two children were also in the apartment at the time. According to police, Laducer attempted to escape out a second-story window but was stopped by police, leading to an altercation with officers outside the home.

Officials say no one was injured in the incident, but all parties involved in the incident were medically evaluated by Altru Health Systems employees.

Laducer was arrested on charges of endangering fire (3x), hindering apprehension and aggravated domestic violence and was subsequently transported to the Grand Forks County Correctional Center.
