The Galaxy Watch 6 is finally ready with the One UI 6 Watch beta firmware

Last updated: October 24, 2024 at 10:58 UTC+02:00

Samsung has been testing the One UI 6 Watch update for the Galaxy Watch 6 for a long time. The beta tests began in June and after eight beta versions, the Galaxy Watch 6 is almost there.

The Beta Operation Manager on the Korean Community Forum confirmed that the final version of the One UI 6 Watch Beta for the Galaxy Watch 6 has been released (via X).

The beta testing phase is almost over. The Galaxy Watch 6 won’t receive any further One UI 6 Watch beta builds unless there’s something terribly wrong with the latest build.

That’s highly unlikely, considering Samsung has polished no fewer than eight beta builds in recent months, bringing the firmware closer to a public release.

A better user experience will soon be available for every Watch 6

One UI 6 Watch is based on Wear OS 5 and debuted with the Galaxy Watch 7 and Watch Ultra. It brings new features including but not limited to:

  • A redesigned Quick Panel
  • Redesigned notification cards
  • A new font
  • Better Samsung Health features with AI-powered Energy Score
  • Double pinch action
  • Touch-sensitive always-on display

When Samsung announces that the final beta build for an update has been released, it generally means that the beta testing period is about to end and users will soon no longer be able to download beta firmware on their devices.

The good news is that the release is coming soon. And in this case, the One UI 6 Watch should soon be available on the Galaxy Watch 6 and eventually on the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 5. We’ll keep you updated when the public rollout begins.
