Katie Boulter and Bianca Andreescu will meet in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo on Friday, October 25, 2024. Here is our prediction for Katie Boulter vs Bianca Andreescu. This article also contains a selection between Katie Boulter and Bianca Andreescu.

Katie Boulter vs. Bianca Andreescu Preview

Katie Boulter demonstrated the gap between her and Kyoka Okamura by losing just three games in the second round. It took the British number 1 almost 70 minutes to dominate the Japanese lucky loser. She won 80% of first serve points (16/20) and 76% of second serve points (13/17). Boulter converted five of seven break points.

The number 33 in the world rankings did not have a single break point on her own serve. Boulter is yet to drop a set at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo after recording a straight sets victory over Priscilla Hon in the first round.

Bianca Andreescu advanced to the quarter-finals after second seed Beatriz Haddad Maia seemingly had to retire with a back injury. The Brazilian only lasted three games and, despite consulting with the coach, was not fit to continue.

Andreescu, who defeated Mei Yamaguchi in the opening round to snap a five-match losing streak, will play her first WTA quarterfinal since the Libema Open in June (runner-up). She has only won 11 games this season and is currently outside the top 100.

• Katie Boulter and Bianca Andreescu have no history at any level. This will be her first career meeting.

Katie Boulter vs Bianca Andreescu Prediction

Considering what Boulter has been able to do in the last two games, it’s a reminder that she hasn’t finished her season mentally, which has happened to some players. A place in the top 30 will be the highest priority at the moment. So Andreescu could hit a wall here as she lacks match sharpness. I’m still not overly convinced of the Canadian’s durability, especially if we end up with three sets here. Backing Boulter at -143 is generous for me.
