The Syracuse Orange women’s soccer team will look for their first win in nine games when they host the Miami Hurricanes in their penultimate game of the season on Thursday, October 24 (10/24/2024) at SU Soccer Stadium.

The Orange finally ended a long losing streak, but the best they could muster was a 1-1 draw against NC State a week ago. That leaves the Orange at 0-7-1 in the ACC and 6-8-2 overall, approaching their worst conference finish since joining the ACC in 2013.

A glimmer of hope remains against Miami, which is second to last in the ACC, ahead only of the Orange. The Orange and Hurricanes are the only two teams in the conference yet to win against an ACC opponent, but Miami has managed three draws so far. However, if Syracuse can beat Miami, they can make up the difference and overtake the Hurricanes before the final game of the season against Boston College.

Last time out, Erin Flurey scored for the Orange just four minutes into the game following a handball penalty against NC State. The Wolfpack later tied it, but Blythe Braun made a season-best nine saves to prevent NC State from taking the lead.
