Man charged in Gibson Co. shooting | Vincennes PBS

The Gibson County Sheriff’s Department released information late Wednesday about a shooting Tuesday night.

According to authorities, around 10:07 p.m., 78-year-old Dallas Cooper of Oakland City brought a 47-year-old gunshot victim to the emergency room in what Deaconess Gibson described as a domestic disturbance.

The victim was initially treated at Deaconess Gibson before being transferred to another hospital for further care. The injuries are not considered life-threatening.

Investigators arrested Cooper and charged him with aggravated assault. He is currently being held in the Gibson County Jail. As part of their ongoing investigation, investigators also searched a location on South State Road 57 near Oakland City.

Authorities believe additional charges may be filed.
