“Sacramento Kings sharpshooter starts in season opener”

“Sacramento Kings sharpshooter starts in season opener”

The Sacramento Kings open their 2024-25 NBA season as hosts on Thursday night at home Minnesota Timberwolves. The Kings had an eventful offseason and acquired one of the best free agents of the season DeMar DeRozan. Sacramento has a chance to be a top team in the world Western Conference. With the recent news that one of their best three point shooters, Kevin Huerterwill line up and start, the Kings are in a great position to establish themselves with several of their top conference peers.

Kings shooting guard Kevin Huerter is not only back, but will also start against Minnesota

Kevin Huerter gives the Kings a boost with his return

Six-year shooting guard Kevin Huerter has fully recovered from his shoulder injury. He sustained the injury in March of last season. The three-point specialist will reportedly join the Kings’ starting lineup against the Timberwolves with a career 38.2% shooting percentage Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento Sports reported. Huerter was mostly a starter last season, making 59 appearances compared to five appearances as a substitute. It appears that Kings is the head coach Mike Brown fully trusts Huerter with a starting role. This squad decision should come as no surprise. Despite a somewhat poor 2023-24 season, Huerter is one of the hottest shooters in the league and has earned a spot in the starting lineup since moving from Atlanta to Sacramento.

The Kings acquired Huerter in 2022 with the Hawks. Since then, he has shot 40.2% and 36.1% from three in his two seasons. His long-range shooting was his specialty when he entered the league with the Hawks in 2018, and he shot consistently Over 35% from deep every season with them. Given his production in Atlanta, the trade was something of a surprise at the time. However, the Kings hit a home run in trading for Huerter, which has worked out well for him so far. Sacramento is a strong offensive team and Huerter fits right in. He is now healthy and ready for what will likely be a more important role on the team. The Sacramento Kings sharpshooter is prepared to take shots both left and right De’Aaron Fox and DeRozan will draw much of the opponent’s defensive attention.

Trey Lyles returns from injury

Nine-year-old journeyman Trey Lyles will also return from injury on Thursday evening. In September, Lyles suffered a groin strain that knocked him out of the Kings’ preseason. With his return and that of Huerter, Brown has a full roster ahead of the Timberwolves game. which he spoke about at the Kings’ shoot-around on Wednesday. Brown mentioned that neither player will be on a minutes restriction plan. He was also asked about the match against the Timberwolves and joked about their greatness without it Karl Anthony cities.

“…they’re still big, you know, it’s a really, really big team. You know, it’s going to take a little bit of getting used to playing with each other, you can tell, but as bad as they think they played, they still had a chance to win it, so they are a very, very impressive opponent, and that starts with their size…”

Brown is certainly right. Even without Towns, Minnesota is still one of the league’s greatest teams. Rudy Gobert is obviously the most striking giant, but Naz Reidwho will replace many of the minutes Towns had this season is tall at 6-foot-3. The Kings face a tough battle at the start of the season. The Timberwolves missed their opening game and don’t want to start 0-2. I’m sure the new Kings will have other plans.
