2 dead, 1 injured after shooting and vehicle fire in Beaufort Co.

BEAUFORT COUNTY, SC (WTOC) – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting and subsequent vehicle fire that left two people dead and one injured.

According to the sheriff’s office, at approximately 10:20 p.m. Wednesday evening, the communications center received a call to a report of a shooting at the corner of Parris Island Gateway and Trask Parkway in Burton.

They say within minutes another report of a vehicle fire was received in the 800 block of Ribaut Road in Beaufort. They say the two incidents are related.

Investigators said they determined there were three people in the vehicle at the time of the shooting. On the way to the hospital, the vehicle had an accident and caught fire.

Two of the three people in the vehicle died. The third person is being treated for their injuries.

The Beaufort County Coroner’s Office is expected to conduct autopsies Thursday.

They say the investigation is ongoing and they are gathering information from the public.
