Fatal shooting in High Point is being investigated by the SBI

HIGH POINT, NC – Around 9:15 a.m. Saturday evening, High Point police were called to a fatal shooting on Ridgebrooke Drive.

When they arrived at the scene, officers said they found 32-year-old Hasson Williams shot in the head.

Williams was taken to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, where he died from his injuries.

The HPPD investigation revealed that a potential suspect may be related to an elected official in the city of High Point.

Based on this determination, the case was transferred to the State Bureau of Investigation for a non-conflict investigation.

No further details are currently known, the police said.
