It will be possible TIME OF DAY or NIGHT Lane closures at various locations in Region 4 to conduct repairs or new installations at various locations throughout the 21 counties as needed.

District 47

BENTON COUNTY

I-40 The pavement resurfacing from SR 69 (MM 126) to the Humphreys County line (Tennessee River Bridge) will result in temporary nighttime lane closures throughout the project.
*Intermittent ramp closures are expected throughout the project.

BENTON COUNTY

SR391 Pavement resurfacing from US 70W (SR 1, LM 0.00) to US 70E (SR 1 LM 5.31) will result in temporary lane closures throughout the project.

CARROLL COUNTY

SR-76 (US-79) Grading, drainage, noise barriers, signals and paving on US 79 (SR 76) from near SR 77 to Cutlip Lane will result in lane closures throughout the project.

CARROLL COUNTY

SR-22 Intersection improvements at SR 22 and Clyde Road at the entrance to Huntingdon Industrial Park serving HG 2.0 will result in lane closures throughout the project.

SR-22 Intersection improvements at SR 22 and Lexington Street at the entrance to Huntingdon Industrial Park, which serve Dynamix Casting Fluxes, will result in lane closures throughout the project.

DYER COUNTY

SR-20 Repairs to the US 412 (SR 20) bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River will result in temporary lane closures throughout the project.

DYER COUNTY

SR-211 The bridge over the North Fork Forked Deer River (south of Dyersburg) will have outside lanes closed for inspection and evaluation.

DYER COUNTY I-155 Pavement resurfacing on I-155 from the Mississippi River Bridge to near the rest area, including bridge expansion joint repairs, will result in temporary lane closures throughout the project.

GIBSON/CARROLL COUNTY

SR-76 (US-79) Grading, drainage, construction of a concrete box bridge, noise barrier and paving on US 79 (SR 76) west of Cades-Atwood Road in Gibson County to east of SR 77 in Carroll County will result in temporary lane closures throughout the project.

Barker Rd is permanently closed at the intersection of the new SR 76 structure, north of Mt. Olive MB Church. A detour along Church Street is planned until Jax Road reopens.

  1. Jax Road is now a dead end. Access is via the existing SR 76 and ends before connecting with the new SR 76 construction.
  2. Jax Road is open and accessed via Oasis Road. Oasis Road becomes S. Jax Road after crossing the new SR 76.

HENRY/WEAKLEY COUNTY

SR-22 HOT-IN-PLACE RECYCLING resurfacing on SR 22 from the Carroll County Line in Henry County to SR 217 in Weakley County will result in temporary lane closures throughout the project.

OBION COUNTY

SR22: Resurfacing on SR22 from SR5 to SR21, including repair of bridge joint expansion joints, will result in temporary lane closures throughout the project.

District 48

CHESTER COUNTY

US 45 (SR 5) Repairs to the bridges on US 45 Overflow (LM 8.38), Turkey Creek (LM 8.50), and Dry Creek (LM 9.36) are expected to result in lane closures to southbound traffic. The northbound lanes will remain untouched throughout the project.

CROCKETT AND GIBSON COUNTY

SR 152 from US 412 (SR 20) to US 70A (SR 366) Resurfacing on SR 152, including repairs to bridge expansion joints and bridge decks, will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane remains open at all times.

DECATUR COUNTY

SR 69 from 3-Way Road (LM 14.01) to Brooksie Access Road (LM 19.73) Pavement resurfacing on SR 69 will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane remains open at all times.

HARDIN COUNTY

SR 69 from Holland Creek Road to Freewill Lane Pavement resurfacing on SR 69 will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane remains open at all times.

HARDIN COUNTY

SR 128 over Pickwick Dam The renovation of the bridge could lead to temporary road closures. One lane remains open at all times. There is currently no restriction on lane width.

MADISON COUNTY

US 412 (SR 20) from US 70 (SR 1) to Liberty-Claybrook Road Pavement resurfacing on US 412 (SR 20) from US 70 (SR 1) (LM 13.85) to Liberty-Claybrook Road (LM 20.10) will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane remains open at all times.

District 49

FAYETTE COUNTY

SR-222 including the I-40 interchange (Exit 42) Grading, drainage, signals and paving on SR 222 from Hebron Drive to near Thorpe Drive, including the I-40 interchange (Exit 42), will result in temporary lane closures in both directions. One lane remains open at all times.

Restrictions – The speed limit has been reduced from 45 MPH to 40 MPH on SR222.

FAYETTE COUNTY

SR-76 from Lagrange Road to Kay Lane The construction of SR 460 will reduce SR 76 to one lane. Temporary traffic signals will be installed at Lagrange Road and Kay Lane. Kay Lane will be closed to through traffic during this construction phase and will only be accessible from the southern end.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY

US-51 (SR-3) from SR-88 to the Dyer County line Temporary lane closures will be required in both directions due to asphalt resurfacing work on US 51. At least one lane in each direction will remain open at all times.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY

US-51 (SR-3) from the Tipton County line to SR-19 Temporary lane closures will be required in both directions due to asphalt resurfacing work on US 51. At least one lane in each direction remains clear at all times.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY

SR-19 from US-51 (SR-3) to Near Eastland Avenue Resurfacing on SR 19 will result in temporary lane closures in both directions.

LAUDERDALE COUNTY

SR-371 from SR-87 (LM 0.00) to SR-87 (LM 4.85) Resurfacing on SR 371 will result in temporary lane closures in both directions.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-3 from near Babe Howard Boulevard to the Tipton County line NIGHTLY, 7:00 p.m. – 6:00 a.m There will be temporary lane closures on SR-3 from Babe Howard Blvd. to the Tipton County line to perform resurfacing work. At least one lane in each direction remains clear at all times.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-175 (Shelby Drive) from Quality Drive to SR-4 (Lamar Avenue) NIGHTTIME, 7:00 PM – 6:00 AM There will be temporary lane closures along SR-175 due to road widening work. At least one lane in each direction remains clear at all times.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-4 from south of Shelby Drive to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange, NIGHTLY from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m There will be temporary lane closures along SR-4 due to road widening work. At least one lane in each direction remains clear at all times.

Affected routes (current)

Lamar Avenue (SR-4): The speed limit from south of Shelby Drive to the Raines/Perkins Road interchange has been reduced from 55 mph to 45 mph.

Shelby Drive (SR-175): The speed limit was reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph at the intersection with Lamar Avenue (SR-4).

Pleasant running route: Closed to through traffic from Pleasant Hill Road. Pleasant Run Road is closed from Lamar Avenue (SR-4).

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway) from Kerrville-Rosemark Road to the Tipton County line The widening of SR-14 (Austin Peay Highway) from Kerrville-Rosemark to the Tipton County line will result in shoulder closures and temporary lane closures in both directions. There will be intermittent lane closures daily on SR 14 east and west to conduct grading, drainage and paving work. Tracy Road, Mulberry Road and Gragg Road will be closed and a diversion will be in place.

SHELBY COUNTY

I-240 at Exit 23 (Airways Boulevard) through October 31, 2024 For safety reasons, there will continue to be temporary lane closures along Airways Boulevard and Ketchum Road. At least one lane in each direction remains clear at all times.

TRAFFIC PATTERNS

The outside lane of I-55 SB will be closed from the west end of the I-55 bridge through the project site and the inside lane of SB will intersect at the east end of the I-55 bridge, sharing the current I-55 NB Cloverleaf ramp with the I-55 NB and utilize the inside lane of the future I-55 NB from Cloverleaf to the southern end of the project.

  1. I-55 NB and SB will be single lanes in each direction, transitioning from the existing I55 NB loop to the new overpass.
  2. Riverside Drive NB and SB closed from EH Crump I55 interchange to W Carolina Avenue.
  3. The I-55 NB exit to EH Crump remains closed.
  4. The I-55 NB exit to I-55NB will be closed and traffic will be shifted to the new overpass.
  5. Wisconsin Avenue opens.
  6. Crump Boulevard will be closed from Kentucky Street to Metal Museum Drive.
  7. Metal Museum Drive from Alston to I-55 NB will be closed.
  8. The ramp from Channel 3 to Riverside Drive SB remains closed.
  9. The Channel 3 ramp from Riverside Drive SB remains closed.

Look ahead

October 26th – 4am to October 28th 6am Tennessee Department of Transportation contracting crews will close the I-55 Mississippi River Bridge to continue construction on I-55 and the Crump interchange. Activities include bridge repair and bridge inspection on I-55 (Memphis Arkansas Bridge).

  • I-55 SB will be closed at Bridgeport Road in Arkansas
  • I-55 NB will be closed at South Parkway* in Tennessee. *Local traffic is allowed to continue to the McLemore exit
  • The I-55 SB ramp will be closed.
  • Crump Boulevard WB remains closed**
  • A diversion will be signposted.

SHELBY COUNTY

SR-23 (Walnut Grove Road) from Poplar Avenue to I-240 – every evening from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m There will be overnight eastbound and westbound lane closures on Walnut Grove Rd (SR 23) from Poplar Ave to I-240 due to asphalt resurfacing work. One lane remains clear in both directions at all times.

TIPTON COUNTY

US-51 (SR-3) at the Kenwood Avenue intersection There will be temporary interior and exterior lane closures on US 51 northbound and southbound at Kenwood Avenue DAILY to enable security improvements. At least one lane in each direction will be open at all times.
