Georgetown police arrest a man who shot and killed a hospitalized man

GEORGETOWN, S.C. (WCSC) – Georgetown police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting Wednesday night.

In a post on social media, police said they were called to Brinkley Street around 6:45 p.m. for a reported shooting.

Two people were shot, one suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The department detained a person of interest for an interview and asked the public not to be in the area during the investigation.

At 9:40 p.m., police reported that a suspect, Terrell Marquez Brown, 22, of Georgetown, was charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence.

Brown was booked into the Georgetown County Detention Center.
