Harris campaign office shooting suspect had more than 120 guns at home, prosecutor says

Maricopa County prosecutors made that claim in court Wednesday, claiming that federal agents told her that more than 120 guns and 250,000 rounds of ammunition were discovered in Kelly’s home after his arrest.

She said that during the search, authorities also discovered rifle scopes, body armor and silencers in the home … along with a machine gun in his car.

Kelly was also accused of hanging bags of white powder on political signs lined with razor blades in Ahwatukee, a neighborhood south of Phoenix.

Based on the items seized during the seizure, Bhatia determined that the agents were “preparing” Kelly to commit an act of mass casualty.

According to police, Kelly initially fired pellets at the campaign office, which also serves as the office of the Tempe Democratic National Committee. Then he supposedly fired shots at the front door and at the window of the office.

Bhatia says the shootings occurred in the early morning hours of Sept. 16, Sept. 23 and Oct. 6 and claims Kelly “had weapons consistent with the weapons used in the shootings.”

Luckily, no one was in the office building during the shooting … but a spokesperson for the Tempe Police Department noted that the repeated incidents raised safety concerns for employees inside.

Kelly – who was previously arrested in 2022 for allegedly stealing campaign signs – was charged with multiple crimes, including committing an act of terrorism, unlawfully discharging a firearm and shooting at a non-residential structure. He is also accused of negligent bodily harm.
