NASHVILLE, Tenn.- The Ole Miss women’s tennis team is sending two players to Nashville, Tennessee to compete in the June Stewart Invitational October 25-27.

The event will be held at the Lummis Family Tennis Center and will feature round-robin singles and doubles play over three days. In doubles, one set of six is ​​played; in singles, two out of three complete sets are played.

rebel Andrea Nova was successful at the invitational tournament last year and finished her first collegiate tournament with three singles wins and one doubles win. The sophomore wants to continue the tradition and earn her first individual win for her 2024 singles season.

Brooklyn Olson also has a Sweet Sixteen appearance at the ITA Southern Regionals in doubles Lucie Petruzelova. The newcomer was ranked No. 704 in the ITF singles rankings and was No. 26 in the country in both singles and doubles with a World Tennis Number of 16.6.

FAMILIAR FACES

Ole Miss has five returning players from last year’s team. Kette is looking to build on her sophomore year as a rebel in her second fall. The three-headed monster in seniors Kareisová, Krzyzak and Leclercq-Ficher will have a big impact this season. In 2024, Kyzyzak led the team in individual wins (18).

TRANSFER TO SIP
The Rebels added Petruzelova from Charlotte through the transfer portal. Petruzelova spent three seasons in Charlotte, posting a combined record of 66-25 in singles and 58-42 in doubles. The senior is five wins shy of his career record of 75 individual victories after a stellar run at the ITA Regionals. Petruzelova reached the quarterfinals after defeating three opponents in straight sets, including Auburn’s Alice Battesi 6-4, 6-1.


Freshman phenomenon
Olson, a blue-chip five-star recruit from Kansas City, Kansas, began her college career this season as a reliever. She was ranked No. 704 in ITF singles and No. 26 nationally. She made her doubles debut at the ITA Southern Regionals with Petruzelova and reached the top 16.

AUTUMN SLATE
The Rebels have a packed fall schedule, including nine tournaments. After the trip to Nashville, the team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to compete in the Roberta Alison Invitational November 1-2. Ole Miss will compete in its second ITF tournament in Jackson, Tennessee, November 4-10 before spending the fall at the ITA Masters (November 7-10) in San Diego, California, or the ITA Sectionals ( November 7th). 7-10) with later location allocation.
