Women’s Basketball Promotional Plan – California State University at Bakersfield Athletics

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Cal State Bakersfield Athletics Department is pleased to announce the gameday promotions and themes for the CSUB women’s basketball home games at the Icardo Center this season.

The Roadrunners will open their 2024-25 home schedule when they host Hawai’i Pacific for an exhibition game on Monday, October 28 at 6:30 p.m. This will be the first home game day for the new head coach. Ari Wideman.

CSUB will host a total of 15 games at the Icardo Center, one exhibition game, four non-conference games and 10 games in the Big West.

Group discount:
All group orders of 15 people or more receive a special price. Discount applies to both our Grandstand General Admission seats ($7 per ticket) and Outer Plaza Reserved seats ($12 per ticket). WBB season tickets:
Purchase your season tickets for all 14 home games starting at $115 for general spectator access to the stands. Floor seating is also available for $260 per seat. Further information on season ticket prices can be found here Here. Season ticket plans are prorated based on games played, resulting in a lower price.

Veteran of the game:
Nominate a “Veteran of the Game” to be recognized for their contributions at each of our home women’s basketball games! Five free tickets will be provided for one veteran and their guests! Complete the following link to nominate now: gorunners.com/NominateAVeteran

Matchday poster:
Be sure to stop by the marketing table in the Icardo Center lobby and pick up a free Roadrunner Women’s Basketball Game Day poster while supplies last. Gameday posters include team rosters and updated schedules. Collect all the game day posters! Each game highlights different athletes.

Chick-fil-A missed free throws:
If the visiting team misses two free throws in a row in the 2nd half, everyone in attendance will win a free Chick-Fil-A card after the game.

Discounts for 3s:
After every Bakersfield 3-pointer this season, t-shirts will be thrown into the crowd courtesy of New Generation Graphics.

We win, you win McDonald’s:
Whenever the team wins, home or away, fans can receive a $2 Big Mac. Only available on the McDonald’s app.

Valley Strong Half Court Shot:
At each home game (excluding Education Day), one lucky CSUB student will be selected to sink a half-court shot for the grand prize FREE LESSONS Courtesy of Valley Strong.

Trick or treating! Celebrate Halloween with us at the Icardo Center. We invite fans to come in their Halloween costumes. The best costume receives a prize. There will be candy distribution before the game.

Take part in Education Day! Each season we welcome elementary and middle school students and administrators from Kern County (and beyond) to the game to cheer on our “runners.”

Ag evening/country evening

The 9th Annual CSUB Ag Night celebrates the agricultural industry in Bakersfield and beyond! CSUB Athletics invites regional FFA chapters, 4-H clubs and other Ag youth organizations to the game. Further information will follow shortly.

Grab your cowboy boots and bring your hat as the Icardo Center goes on a country tour. There will be country-themed music and games throughout the game.

National Day of Girls and Women in Sports

Join us in celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day! Your Bakersfield women’s basketball team invites women of all ages to the Icardo Center for a day celebrating women in sports. Girls under 18 are encouraged to take part in our mini pre-game sports classes led by other Lady Runners sports teams before enjoying exciting basketball action at the Icardo Center.

Pink game

We encourage fans to wear pink to the game! CSUB Athletics will raise awareness and money for the fight against women’s cancer. Donations made during the game will go directly to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Yow was a former North Carolina State head basketball coach who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987.

Seniors Day/Women’s History Month Celebration

Join us as we honor the senior class for their contributions to the basketball program, campus and the Bakersfield community during a pregame ceremony. We will also recognize our senior spirit and band members during the game!

Throughout the game, we will recognize women who have made an impact in the community and beyond.
