Body found near Silver Spring bus stop, police appeal for information

SILVER SPRING, Md. – A Silver Spring man was found dead near a bus stop Tuesday and Montgomery County police are asking the public for information about the murder.

On Thursday, authorities said the victim was 19-year-old Edilberto Borja-Cardona, whose body was found traumatized. Borja-Cardona was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police were called to the area behind a Ride-On bus stop in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road around 2:38 p.m. Tuesday and found Borja-Cardona.

His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will officially determine the cause and manner of death.
