Criticism of Bolinsky’s election results – The Newtown Bee

To the editor:

On October 4, Mitch Bolinsky posted on Facebook that October was Domestic Violence Month and that we are fortunate to have the Domestic Violence Victims Empowerment and Education Center nearby in Danbury. While it is great that he is raising awareness of this pressing family issue, it is unfortunate that his voting record as a representative of our city does not reflect his support for protecting us from domestic violence.

In 2021, Mitch voted against Public Act 21-67, which provided a law to take guns away from violent criminals and domestic abusers.

In 2023, Mitch voted against Public Act 23-53, which strengthened gun violence legislation.
