Mercedes Mone wants to make history in the AEW Dream Match – TJR Wrestling

Mercedes Mone has named her five best fantasy duels.

Although Mercedes Mone still has many years at the top, he has already taken on many of the greats of modern times. From her time in WWE to adventures in Japan and elsewhere, the star has fought and beaten the best.

But that doesn’t mean all of her wrestling wishes were granted.

In the latest issue of her Mone Mag, the TBS champion discussed her top five fantasy matches with stars past and present. After listing matches with Manami Toyota, Kyoko Inoue, Trish Stratus and Mickie James, Mone pointed to a match that could actually be a possibility.

Mone then suggested that a match with ROH Women’s Champion Athena would be one of the greatest matches of all time. Athena, who recently became the longest-reigning ROH Champion in history, won the women’s title back in December 2022.

Athena: They say fantasies can’t come true, only dreams can. With that in mind, a dream fight would be against Athena, the women’s Ring of Honor champion. I only had two matches with her, but they were matches with multiple women. I think she is an incredible talent.

Like the others, I have never seen women do things like she has done before. She also seems to love it as much as I do. I think if I was given the chance and opportunity we would have one of the greatest games of all time.

Jim Ross wants to see more of Mercedes Mone

Although the star holds the TBS title and the NJPW Strong Women’s title, Jim Ross said he expects more from Mercedes Mone. However, the legendary announcer denied that his comments were a criticism of Mone.

Ross explained that he hasn’t yet seen Mone get a storyline that she can really get into, and as a result, she hasn’t yet reached the heights he expected in AEW.

The star was last in action on the October 16 episode of Dynamite, where she defeated Queen Aminata.
