Jake Hadley vents at Shock UFC release

Given the overwhelming number of signings from Dana White’s Contender Series, it’s safe to assume that some UFC fighters are on the rocks, especially after lackluster performances.

Many were shocked by a recent publication: Britain’s Jake Hadley was released after UFC Vegas 99. The UFC chose not to renew “White Kong’s” contract despite consecutive short-notice fights that are usually rewarded with preferential promotion.

Hadley (11-4 MMA, 3-4 UFC) made it clear in an Oct. 23 post:

“I wasn’t fired, my contract has expired [. I] “I took two big risks in my last two bouts as CEO and it bit me in the butt,” Hadley wrote. “Has [Caolan Loughran] with a week’s notice, but missed the burden that was obviously being thrown at me and then took off [Cameron Smotherman] with three days notice…

“… I understand [Smotherman] I haven’t done camp, but everyone is always ready for it [three five-minute rounds] Come on, I proved that vs. [Loughran] … If I decide to come back to the UFC, I know I can do it again, no problem.”

The Oldbury native has options in the PFL and European MMA scenes, including a potential showdown with his former UFC colleague Muhamad Mokaev. Mokaev joined BRAVE CF after being abruptly released from the UFC in July.
