But when will it be released? And who returns?

Read on to find out everything we know so far about Season 6 of All Creatures Great and Small.

All Creatures Great and Small Season 6 Release Date Speculation: When Could It Air?

We assume that the sixth season will be released in either September/October 2025.

But in the meantime, for your entertainment, there’s the annual “All Creatures Great Christmas” episode.

It seems we’ve seen the last of Richard Carmody after he went to London to take part in a research program, although we wouldn’t rule out him coming back for the Christmas episode.

As for the rest of the cast, here’s what we expect:

  • Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot
  • Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot
  • Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon
  • Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon
  • Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall

There are also Patricia Hodge as Mrs. Pumphrey (alongside Derek, the dog who plays Tricki Woo), Imogene Clawson as Jenny Alderson and Tony Pitts as Richard Alderson, among other things.

And as always, you can also look forward to a number of new guest stars.

Jeremy Swift joined the cast as Mr. Bosworth in Season 5, and with the war still ongoing, there’s also a chance he could return.

Speaking to RadioTimes.com ahead of the fifth season’s debut, Samuel West said that the cast was “in the process of having some discussions” about what the sixth season would bring.

“One of the things the books dramatize is the fact that Tristan is leaving,” he said. “Brian, the original Tristan, has left the practice. And I don’t think we will. I hope not. So I think we won’t be canon at this point.”

After Tristan’s absence in season four, fans are certainly hoping that won’t be the case either.

Anna Madeley added: “As our adaptation is very different from both the ’70s adaptation and the way the book is written, it’s a very different journey we’re on, even though These stories are obviously the main source of inspiration.” The journey and arc of these characters are very different. We’ll see.

West went on to say that not knowing what’s at stake “can be a little worrying, but at the same time it has to include the possibility of being surprised, just like life.”

Both James and Tristan returned to Darrowby in Season 5, but while the former was declared unfit for duty due to a brucellosis condition that continues to cause him problems, there is every chance that Tristan will be transferred, which could mean another stint abroad .

James’ mental health has also suffered following his return, so it remains to be seen whether he can make a full recovery.

And as the war becomes more intense, everyone’s future remains uncertain.

However, we know that baby Jimmy will continue to be a joy, the animals of Darrowby and the surrounding areas will keep Siegfried and James busy and Mrs Hall will ensure Skeldale House remains in top condition.
