When will Spotify Wrapped be released for 2024? Here’s what you should know

Spotify Wrapped is just around the corner and music lovers can’t wait to share on social media what songs they’ve been jamming to this year.

Spotify has not yet announced when Wrapped will be released in 2024, but based on previous years it will be coming soon. In 2023, Spotify Wrapped was released on November 30th, but in previous years it was released on December 1st, according to previous USA TODAY reporting.

On Thursday, Spotify announced via a pop-up in the app that “2024 is almost over” and users should update the app to prepare.

Users will be notified when their Spotify Wrapped is ready by a pop-up when opening the Spotify app. The music streaming service will also likely post about the release date on its social media.

What is Spotify Wrapped?

Founded in 2016, Spotify launched an annual campaign that combines listening data from Spotify users into an interactive display of the user’s most listened to music.

Typically, Spotify Wrapped displays a user’s most popular songs, artists, and genres. Users are encouraged to share their Spotify Wrapped on social media.

User data is collected from January 1st to the fall of the same year to create a user’s Spotify Wrapped.

When does Spotify Wrapped stop tracking?

With Spotify Wrapped releasing before December 31st, users may be wondering when tracking of their listening habits will end.

Although Spotify has not yet announced when it will stop collecting listener data for Wrapped this year, the streaming service announced last year on X, formerly Twitter, that it would continue collecting until October 31st.

What about Apple Music Replay?

In 2019, Apple jumped on the Wrapped bandwagon and released its own feature called Apple Music Replay. Apple Music Replay works similarly to Spotify Wrapped, starting this year to release monthly Replay experiences that highlight a user’s listening habits at the end of each month.

A release date for 2024 Apple Music Replay has not been announced.
