WSU is adding a road game against Colorado State to the 2025 schedule, leaving only one game to fill

PULLMAN – Washington State football is just one game away from finalizing its 2025 schedule.

WSU will face Colorado State on Sept. 27, according to a news release Thursday. This is the 11th announced game on the Cougars’ 2025 schedule, which now only has one game left to fill. It will be the third meeting between the Cougs and Rams in four seasons, including two WSU wins in 2022 and 2023.

WSU was originally scheduled to play a road game against Virginia that day, so the Cougars have rescheduled that game for Oct. 18. That means WSU will face Virginia and Ole Miss in consecutive weeks.

The Cougs’ competition against the revamped Pac-12 begins in 2026. The schedule agreement between the Pac-12 and Mountain West that called for WSU and Oregon State to play games this season will not continue next year, forcing the Cougars to do so to fill out their 2025 season schedule with opponents from across the country.

Here is WSU’s current 2025 schedule:

Aug. 30 vs. Idaho

Sept. 6 vs. San Diego State

September 13 in North Texas

September 20 against Washington

Sept. 27 at Colorado State

Oct. 11 at Ole Miss

October 18 in Virginia

October 25 against Toledo

Nov. 1 at Oregon State

Nov. 15 vs. Louisiana Tech

Nov. 29 vs. Oregon State

CSU is one of six new members joining the Pac-12 in 2026, along with Boise State, San Diego State, Gonzaga (basketball only), Fresno State and Utah State. The conference needs eight football members to compete as an FBS conference under NCAA rules, so conference commissioner Theresa Gould must find at least one more member.

Colorado State originally had a road game scheduled for Sept. 27 against Vanderbilt of the SEC. That leaves the Commodores with just 11 games left on their 2025 schedule.
