“Masked Republic and Future House Announce Release Date for Children’s Book Lucha Libre”

Masked Republic and Future House Publishing have set a March 2025 release date for their first bilingual Lucha Libre children’s book. PWInsider reports that the following press release was sent out announcing that the La Dinistia Muñoz: Dragon Lee and the Salty River Monster Arriving March 10th:

Future House Publishing and Masked Republic announce the release date for the bilingual middle grade book “La Dinistia Muñoz: Dragon Lee and the Monster of Salty River,” starring the Muñoz brothers Dragon Lee, Rush, Dralistico and their father El Toro Blanco.

Future House Publishing and Masked Republic have set March 10, 2025 for the release of their brand new bilingual middle grade series, La Dinistia Muñoz, and first novel, Dragon Lee and the Monster of Salty River.

The book trilogy focuses on the real Lucha Libre megastars “La Dinistia Muñoz” – the brothers Dragon Lee, Rush and Dralistico as well as their father El Toro Blanco (also known as Bestia del Ring). These fantasy children’s books feature heartwarming family moments as well as epic battles between luchadores and fearsome monsters.

To meet the need for more authentic Hispanic content for native Spanish speakers, each book will be bilingual. English and Spanish texts are written side by side so families can enjoy them in the language each family member is most comfortable with, and those who want to learn a second language can enjoy a fun approach to their studies.

As one of the most successful Lucha Libre families today, all three brothers competed at the highest levels of the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and Lucha Libre AAA in Mexico, winning a total of twelve championships. Starting with Dragon Lee in 2016, the brothers all made their way to the US-based Ring of Honor, where Lee and Rush won both championships and began to build even larger fan bases internationally.

Today, Dragon Lee is under an exclusive contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, where he is part of Rey Mysterio’s LWO stable, while Rush and Dralistico are exclusive to All Elite Wrestling and are part of the “La Faccion Ingobernable” stable. And just like in the pages of her new middle grade novel, her father, once known as El Toro Blanco and now competing throughout Mexico as “Bestia del Ring,” was a successful luchador himself before he began training his sons to have everything have achieved success on a global scale beyond their mentor. All of this combines to create not only an exciting book for middle school readers, but also a historic moment in publishing. Never in history have real-life brothers signed to compete with global wrestling promotions managed to publish a book together.

The latter success is made possible by all three brothers being part of Masked Republic’s Legends of Lucha Libre IP management brand and represented by the company’s Lucha Libre Agency. Ruben Zamora, founder and CEO of Masked Republic, said of the deal: “Growing up, Luchadores were my superheroes. We look forward to working with Future House to bring middle grade readers an exciting new world of stories that will help expand the still underrepresented number of Hispanic children’s titles and maintain a truly universal appeal.”

Dragon Lee (whose full real name is publicly unknown in keeping with long-standing masked Lucha Libre tradition) joined the full-time WWE roster on SmackDown and later on RAW. Just as he wants his career to rise to the highest levels of professional wrestling to inspire children of all ages, he wants the book series to provide family inspiration at a younger age. “We didn’t grow up rich or have the advantage of having a career,” Lee said. “Our father was a famous luchador, but in Mexico there isn’t always a lot of money or glamor in lucha libre. But what he had and what he instilled in us was drive, determination, love for our family and love for our culture. He trained us in the ring, but he also taught us how to be successful in life. We all worked hard, very hard, and we achieved this. Just like my career in the ring, which I want to use to show children around the world that they too can achieve great things, I want our new book series to inspire them too – inspire them to learn to read bilingually, inspire them to do so Inspired to Be Creative With their intellect and storytelling ability, they inspire them to work hard and achieve their dreams.”

Rush, whose real name is William Arturo Muñoz González, is excited to share the books with his children. “My son already wants to follow in my footsteps and become the first luchador of our family in the third generation. He is very excited to read about the monster hunting adventures that his uncles and I will continue. But he knows that we take his training very seriously. My wife and I believe that the way the books juxtapose Spanish and English will be a great way for him to learn in two languages at the same time, perhaps without even realizing it. By the time our young daughter goes to school, we hope the books will have become an integral part of learning English in Mexico and learning Spanish in the United States.”

Dralistico added: “When my brothers and I were growing up, there weren’t many books with characters who came from our culture and had the same dreams as us. “I want something better for my daughter and her generation. And I want children from all over the world to be able to share our adventures. I am very proud that my brothers and I will be part of such a historic moment in children’s book history.”

La Dinistia Muñoz trilogy will be available in print wherever books are sold, including Barnes and Noble, Amazon and indie bookstores, as well as on all major e-book platforms.

The summary of the first part by author Kevin Garcia is:
