Alex Pereira Makes Acting Debut as Villain in ‘Onslaught’

UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira has been bitten by Hollywood fever.

“Poatan” is in talks to make his acting debut alongside Adria Arjona (“Blink Twice,” “Morbius”) as the villain in “Onslaught,” directed by Adam Wingard (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Godzilla x Kong.” : The”) to give New Empire, “You’re Next”) and from A24 with Lyrical Media and Ryder Picture Company.

Sources told The Hollywood Reporter that the film can best be described as a “gonzo action-horror thriller” and is more in line with Wingard’s previous work in films like “The Guest” and “Blair Witch” before branching out into action films with a big budget.

Pereira would play a character called “The Butcher” and his character work will be given a boost by his MMA background, which has seen him win championships in two different weight classes during his UFC tenure.

The 37-year-old Pereira is on an impressive streak of three successful light heavyweight title defenses in 176 days, most recently a fourth-round TKO of Khalil Rountree at UFC 307 on October 5.
