RedHawks complete day one of the MAC Fall Championships

HAMILTON, Ohio– The Miami University tennis team finished 1-1 on the first day of the MAC Fall Individual Championships. On Thursday, 16 athletes competed in the first round of individual play. Catherine Denysiewicz-Slowek picked up a singles win against NIU and advanced to the second round.

Elena Malykh (BSU) defeated. Sabina Brichackova (EMU), 6-2, 6-3
Catherine Denysiewicz-Slowek (Miami) def. Erika Dimitriev (NIU), 6-4, 6-2
Jacklynka Scholten (UT) defeated. Lola Glantz (WMU), 6-1, 6-3
Tia Clemens (BGSU) defeated. Esmee Andresen (UB), 6(3)-7(7), 6-3, 6-1
Gaby Rondon (UT) defeated. Audrey Smitek (WMU), 6-2, 6-0

Next: The RedHawks will be back in action on Oct. 25 in Hamilton, Ohio, for the second day of the tournament, which includes the singles quarterfinals, doubles first round and consolation singles.
