Innocent man critically injured after shooting on Dauphin Street, family seeks support

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Tonight, an innocent man faces life-threatening injuries following a shooting at Hayley’s Bar on October 20th.

According to the Mobile Police Department, Michael Sullivan was arrested and charged with first-degree assault after he attempted to shoot another person but missed and shot Cody Goff, the victim who was in the back of the bar.

Candace Goff, the victim’s sister, told FOX10 News they are recovering every day.

“Even though he’s had these two major surgeries and is now walking again, we don’t know if everything is going to collapse in the next five days, and it’s scary,” Goff said. “All these medical bills are piling up and no one thinks about it, but you have to do it.”

Goff said her brother was on a ventilator for the first 24 hours and surgeons had to remove about a foot and a half of his large and small intestines, and a large vein was severely damaged and had to be tied off.

The family expects Cody’s recovery to be a long road and has launched a GoFundMe to raise money to support him during this difficult time.
