Nicole Scherzinger texted Liam Payne the day he died: report

Nicole Scherzinger was reportedly in contact with Liam Payne on October 16, the same day he fatally fell to his death.

According to Andrew Lloyd Webber, who composed the music for their Broadway musical “Sunset Blvd.”, the 46-year-old Pussycat Dolls alum texted the 31-year-old One Direction singer while he was in Argentina before his sudden death .

“I suppose something that wasn’t said, and I guess I could say, is that of course she mentored Liam from One Direction,” Webber said in an interview with Billboard published Thursday. “On Wednesday when he died, she texted him that day.”

“X Factor” judges include Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, LA Reid and Nicole Scherzinger.

After learning of Payne’s death, Scherzinger continued to appear as Norma Desmond in the Broadway production – a move for which Webber applauded her.

“She had just found out he died,” he explained, “and the fact that she even did the show is extraordinary.” I mean, she’s an amazing, amazing woman. She is without question one of the best artists I have ever worked with.”

The Post has reached out to Scherzinger’s representative.

The singer was always in Payne’s corner.

She was a judge on The X Factor when One Direction was formed. Resurfaced footage showed that Scherzinger, not Simon Cowell, was the one who suggested adding Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik and Payne to the boy band rather than allowing them to compete as individuals.

Payne died earlier this month after falling from his third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

According to Buenos Aires emergency services chief Alberto Crescenti, the boy band graduate suffered a fractured skull and died instantly from “very serious injuries.” He also suffered internal and external bleeding in his skull, chest, abdomen and limbs, which the autopsy said “contributed to the mechanism of death.”

However, Payne had a toxic cocktail of drugs in his system, which also appeared in his preliminary autopsy report.

According to ABC News, the singer had “pink cocaine” known as Tusi – a combination of methamphetamine, ketamine and ecstasy -, benzodiazepines, crack cocaine and cocaine in his blood.

The hotel was searched Wednesday evening, with police seizing computer hard drives and hotel surveillance footage, the AP reported.

Police are working overtime to find out who supplied Payne with the drugs and have interviewed several hotel employees.

Law enforcement sources told TMZ that police are investigating the theory that an associate may have delivered the drugs to Payne in a Dove soapbox, which was photographed in his trashed hotel room.

Before his fatal fall, eyewitnesses said the One Direction star was behaving “erratically” in the hotel lobby. The facility’s manager confirmed this in the 911 call, claiming that Payne “destroyed the whole room,” while pointing out that the singer had a balcony and expressing concern that he might hurt himself.
