The Mama Mia! Star will also sing the work of cabaret Composers at upcoming concerts in Manhattan and Chicago.

Karen Mason, who first worked with John Kander and the late Fred Ebb when she starred in Off-Broadway’s And the world turnscelebrates the work of Broadway songwriters on her latest solo album. Justified Karen Mason and All That Jazz!, The new recording will be available October 25 on CD, digital and streaming formats from Zevely Records and King Kozmo Music, a division of Jazzheads Music Group.

Mason is accompanied on piano by her longtime music director Christopher Denny. The album was produced and mixed by Paul Rolnick, with arrangements by Denny and Barry Kleinbort, who directed the original concert version of the show.

The recording includes Mason’s rendition of “All That Jazz,” “Maybe This Time,” and “A Quiet Thing,” as well as songs by The visit (“Love and love alone”), The Scottsboro Boys (“Go back home”) and The happy time (“The Life of the Party”). Other titles include “I am one of the smart ones” and “My coloring book”.

“I have always loved Kander and Ebb’s music,” Mason said in an earlier statement. “When I first became interested in theater, I learned that most of the female roles were soprano roles. But when I heard the cast album cabaretI discovered singing women in my vocal range. And it opened the world to me! So my connection to Kander & Ebb started very early and they continued to enrich my life once I got hired And the world turns.”

Mason has appeared on Broadway Mama Mia!, Wonderland, HairsprayAnd Sunset Blvdas well as on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s US tour Love never dies. A recipient of the 2019 MAC Lifetime Achievement Award, she has also performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Feinstein’s/54 Below, Drury Lane Oakbrook, and London’s Royal Albert Hall.

The Broadway favorite will celebrate her new album with concerts Nov. 10 at 54 Below in Manhattan and Nov. 13-16 at Davenport’s in Chicago. Visit KarenMason.com.
