Game Freak has reportedly made changes to the Pokemon anime due to Ash’s departure

We have only noted some of the leaks that emerged from the Game Freak hack some time ago out of respect for the developer and the team behind the games and other material. We don’t like to spoil anything here because we just want you to experience it for yourself. However, this story about the Pokémon anime, and in particular the ending of Ash Ketchum’s appearance in it, caught our attention for several reasons. The biggest problem is that, according to the tweet below, the company wasn’t impressed with the development of Pokemon Horizons, and the fact that Ash would simply be “finished” after completing Pokemon Journeys somehow seemed to anger them bitterly.

As a result, they delayed the new anime, which had to be rewritten and postponed, and that led to them doing the epilogue series with Ash Ketchum so he could have a “proper farewell.”

The irony is that while Game Freak’s heart was in the right place, the results are much harder to justify. For example, as I noted in my Pokemon To Be A Pokemon Master review, Ash didn’t get a proper sendoff as it was a series of filler episodes with Brock and Misty.

Secondly, Pokemon Horizons (in my opinion and others) doesn’t have the same quality as the Ash anime. That’s actually why I stopped reviewing it, because I disliked it so much I stopped watching it. And it’s clearly not as popular as Ash’s. So again, good intentions…not the best results.
