The Wolves set a program record for consecutive shutouts in a scoreless draw at Seattle Pacific

SEATTLE— The Western Oregon women’s soccer team set three school records in a scoreless draw against Seattle Pacific at Interbay Stadium on Thursday night.

The Wolves (4-3-7 overall, 4-1-4 GNAC) set a school record for consecutive shutouts (five), time without conceding a goal (527 minutes, 33 seconds) and ties in a season (seven) with Saturday’s Result.

WOU withstood a barrage of shots from the Falcons (7-1-5, 5-0-4) as the Wolves fell behind 14-0 in the first half, but WOU was the keeper Sophia Pierce With nine saves in the first half, the contest remained scoreless.

In the second half, the Wolves led 9-4, with one of WOU’s shots finding the net, while Pierce made three more saves, finishing with a career-high 12 saves. It was her fifth shutout this season, 12 total in her two years at WOU – and is already third on the all-time list.

In two games between WOU and SPU this season, neither team scored a goal as both were scoreless.

The Wolves return to action Saturday at Montana State Billings.
