First Serve Tennis Center celebrates expansion

SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb. (KCAU) – The Siouxland Tennis Association celebrated its expansion at the First Serve Tennis Center with a ribbon cutting on Thursday.

Just a few years after opening in 2020, demand for dishes has never been higher. Through a fundraising campaign earlier this month, the center raised $1.5 million to expand and complete six indoor courts and two new outdoor courts.

“We are excited and able to truly fulfill our mission of introducing more people to the lifelong sport of tennis,” said Wes Michaelson of the Siouxland Tennis Association. “We have engaged a diverse range of children in learning an active lifestyle and have had a lot of success.”

The fundraiser helped First Serve hire four full-time and two part-time teachers.
