Three Dutch tennis players were selected for an honorable mention

PELLA – The American Rivers Conference announced its postseason honors for women’s tennis Thursday and three Central College players were selected as honorable mention.

Madi Whalen (Junior, Kansas City, Missouri, Park Hill HS), Jenna Mitsuko Mahoney (Junior, Misawa, Japan, Robert D. Edgren HS) ) and Lauren Gano (sophomore, Johnston) were all selected for honorable mention after the fall 2024 season.

During the American Rivers Conference season, Whalen was 6-2 in doubles and 0-7 in singles (No. 1). Mahoney had a 5-3 record in No. 1 and No. 2 singles matches, while he also posted a 5-3 record in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches. Gano was 5-2, playing primarily at No. 4 singles and 2-6 at No. 1 doubles.

Central was 5-3 in conference play and finished the season tied for third place. The Dutch are 7-5 overall and return to action March 11 against Calvin University (Mich.) in Orlando, Fla.
