Michael Fassbender’s spy thriller “The Agency” confirms release date in exciting trailer

When he’s asked to give up his alter ego and report to the CIA’s London office, it means he leaves everything behind in the blink of an eye – including Sami (Jodie Turner-Smith), the woman he’s fallen in love with.

The synopsis reads: “When the love he left behind resurfaces, romance is rekindled. His career, his true identity and his mission confront his heart, plunging both into a deadly game of international intrigue and espionage.”

Check out the trailer for The Agency below and tune in to the new series on Paramount Plus in the UK and Ireland Saturday, November 30, 2024.

In addition to Fassbender and Turner-Smith, The Agency also stars Jeffrey Wright (No Time to Die), Katherine Waterston (Slow Horses), Harriet Sansom Harris (Werewolf by Night), India Fowler (Insomnia) and Richard Gere (MotherFatherSon).

Behind the camera, the show is executive produced by Hollywood legend George Clooney and co-written by brothers Jez and John-Henry Butterworth, who penned the James Mangold films Ford vs. Ferrari and Indiana Jones and That Dial of Destiny” are known.

Of his time on the project, Fassbender told Entertainment Weekly, “I’ve never starred in a TV series before, so I have a lot of respect for it.”

“It’s a busy schedule, you have to be quick, you have to get things done, but I really enjoy it.”

This is only Gere’s second regular television role after the BBC miniseries MotherFatherSon, which he said would be his last small film role, but the veteran actor was “amazed” by the size of The Agency.

“When I was a kid you didn’t want to be on TV – it was just something you didn’t do. It just wasn’t of the highest quality, but now we see things on TV that are as good or better than almost anything we see [movie] Screens,” he said.

“It’s hard to even call it television now. It’s a different animal. I have to tell you, I probably shouldn’t say this, but I was amazed at how much money is involved… Very big budget storytelling.”

“The Agency” will be available to stream on Paramount Plus starting Saturday, November 30th.
