WWE star and newcomer reflect on close friendship before match

Ahead of their SmackDown match, WWE stars Johnny Gargano and Alex Shelley commented on their “full circle moment.”

On the October 18 edition of WWE SmackDown, the Motor City Machine Guns made their debut by defeating A Town Down Under and Los Garza and advanced to the number one contender’s match against DIY on the October 25 episode.

MCMG vs. DIY will feature longtime friends Alex Shelley and Johnny Gargano on opposite sides of the ring for the first time in WWE.

Before their high-stakes match takes place, Gargano took to social media to post a photo of their first duel together. He wrote the following headline:

A guy who has been like a big brother to me throughout my career.

In the meantime, Shelley posted a few photos of herself and Gargano over the years. He wrote:

@JohnnyGargano is absolutely one of my favorite people and I am so happy with where he is in life. This is a competition and a sport, but man, one of the best parts of wrestling is full circle moments.

The winner of Motor City Machine Guns vs. DIY will face The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Tonga Loa in a battle for the WWE Championships.
