U.S. Marshal’s Task Force takes suspect in Enfield shooting into custody

ENFIELD, CT – A man wanted in connection with a shooting on Lincoln Street in May was taken into custody Thursday and faces a slew of charges in Enfield.

Dennis Rodriguez, 30, was charged with first-degree criminal attempt to commit assault, criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a handgun without a permit, first-degree reckless endangerment, criminal use of a firearm, illegal discharge of a firearm and first-degree felony murder. Felony and breach of peace in the second degree. Bail was set at $300,000.

Members of the U.S. Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force were assisted by the Connecticut State Police Emergency Services Unit and the Central Region SWAT team in apprehending Rodriguez in Bristol.

At approximately 5:38 a.m. on May 5, police were dispatched to Lincoln Street at Alden Avenue after a report of shots being fired. Four people, including three men, were arrested following an investigation that revealed a man known to the victim entered a home in the area and later exchanged gunfire with residents, Police Chief Alaric Fox said.

There had already been an arrest in the case.
