The Elder Scrolls 6 and Skyrim release date gap is making players more frustrated than ever – news

I have never been more aware of my own mortality

Six years have passed since then The Elder Scrolls 6′The series’ existence has been confirmed, but although the highly anticipated sequel is apparently in development, fans fear it may never be released.

First announced during the 2018 E3 event, confirmation of The Elder Scrolls 6 was a huge success, which isn’t surprising considering it’s the first The Elder Scrolls entry since the awards ceremony Skyrim.

Along with a (very short) teaser trailer, fans were overjoyed that they would soon be able to explore the lands of Skyrim and beyond once again, but after a six-year wait with little to no information, excitement has turned to frustration.

The reason for Bethesda’s radio silence isn’t really known, other than the studio has likely prioritized other newer releases like 2023’s Starfield.

But now Starfield and its subsequent DLC are out in the world, one would have at least thought that we would have a new one The Elder Scrolls 6 update.

The frustration recently reached its peak on r/ElderScrolls, where a poster said: “I miss the days when there wasn’t a literal human generation between game releases.”

A screenshot of the period between publications has been added to your comment The Elder Scrolls: Arena in 1994 to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in 2006.

The infographic shows that the longest gap between Bethesda releases during this period was just six years earlier The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim arrived in 2011.

It’s now been thirteen years since we haven’t received a new mainline The Elder Scrolls title, so it’s perhaps not surprising that fans are struggling.

The comments soon filled with TES fans lamenting their lost childhood, and the Reddit thread soon turned into a virtual therapy session.

“I was in my early 20s then Skyrim “I got out at midnight on 11/11/11 and went to the mall to pick up a copy, played for three hours, then slept for two hours before having to get up for the early shift,” the top comment read.

“Now I’m usually in bed at 8pm watching TV on my laptop, and I’ll be in my 40s before the next movie comes out.”

It remains to be seen when we’ll get our next update or even a release date from Bethesda, but it couldn’t come soon enough.
