Zendaya and Tom Holland’s matching date night looks confirm that burgundy is back

Zendaya and Tom Holland’s matching date night looks confirm that burgundy is back

Celebrity power couples appearing in matching outfits have a long history in Hollywood. Just think back to 2001, when Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake made a statement by hitting the red carpet in double-double denim, or Victoria and David Beckham’s coordinated looks in the ’90s and ’00s .

More recently, everyone from Rihanna and ASAP Rocky to Hailey and Justin Bieber have shown a tendency to dress alike – and the latest couple to join their ranks is none other than Zendaya and Tom Holland.

The dynamic duo traveled to New York City for a date night at the Greenwich Hotel in Tribeca on October 24 and wore matching burgundy looks for the occasion. Zendaya opted for a custom Louis Vuitton by Nicolas Ghesquière leather dress in a deep shade of merlot with a plunging V-neck and metal belt detail. Holland, on the other hand, took a more casual approach, wearing black pants, white sneakers, and a T-shirt that perfectly matched Zendaya’s dress.

The couple’s coordinated looks not only served as a statement of fashion strength, but also established burgundy as the hue of the season. The color is absolutely ubiquitous for AW24: it’s been a staple of Sabato de Sarno’s recent Gucci shows, been spotted on the runways of Chloé, Etro, Erdem, Bottega Veneta and more, and has made its way into high-street collections on top of that.

We know from experience that Zendaya has the power to send a trend into the stratosphere, so we’d say it’s high time to add some burgundy beauties to your wardrobe for the upcoming season.
