For the first time since 2018, the World Series returns to Dodger Stadium as the 2024 edition features a historic Fall Classic rivalry between the Dodgers and New York Yankees.

The Dodgers will use Jack Flaherty for Game 1 and look to recapture his form in Game 1 of the NLCS against the New York Mets after he gave up eight runs in Game 5. Gerrit Cole starts with a 3.31 ERA in 16 ¹⁄₃ New York gets the nod for postseason innings this year.

A few key Dodgers pieces return to the playoffs, with reliever Alex Vesia and shortstop Miguel Rojas being added to the World Series roster. Rojas left Game 3 of the NLDS against the San Diego Padres due to a severe adductor tear and missed the remainder of the series and the entire NLCS. Vesia was unable to pitch at all in the NLCS because she suffered an intercostal strain while warming up in the eighth inning of Game 5 of the NLDS.

Freddie Freeman is back in the lineup for Game 1 after missing Game 6 of the NLCS against the Mets.
