High-speed chase through Deerpark leads to driver’s arrest

A New Jersey man, 21-year-old James Guerrero, is facing charges after he allegedly drove recklessly through Orange County.

According to Deerpark police, an officer saw Guerrero speeding on Route 97 last week. Guerrero allegedly accelerated to over 100 miles per hour and began weaving past other drivers.

The car sped through Port Jervis before stopping in Deerpark. Guerrero was charged with reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and reckless endangerment.

According to police, Guerrero was part of a group that drove recklessly through Deerpark, Port Jervis and Sullivan County. He was released on an appearance ticket but could face additional charges along with other riders in his group.
